Our company was founded in 2009 with a very specific project, namely to take over the land of our grandparents and start cultivating ancient and organic products.
Our main crops are almonds, dried figs, walnuts and vegetables. We also cultivate vineyards with indigenous varieties in the Castrovillari (cs) vineyard area.
Within the company we have an artisan workshop where these products are then processed according to old recipes, using careful and still entirely manual methods.
In the historical centre of Civita is our wine cellar where the processing of grapes and a wine-making process handed down by Civita families who have been making wine there since 1935 takes place; our wine cellar is open to the public and you can taste the various varieties of wine inside.
In 2013, our project became broader and consisted of involving young farmers from the Pollino region and starting a collaboration in the sale of products and the search for seeds and varieties of ancient and indigenous plants. All these products are then collected in our sales point in the central square of Civita.

Quattrocieli Winery
Cantina Quattrocieli is a young Sicilian company, founded with the aim of producing excellent, fresh and genuine wine, in perfect balance between modernity and tradition. The wines are anchored in the values handed down by the family, which for generations, armed with passion and a deep respect for the land, has produced grapes of the highest quality.
The wines produced by the winery are made following a strictly organic regime, selecting the native grape varieties that best express and adapt to the terroir. Attention to detail and the use of only indigenous yeasts allow the creation of authentic wines with the colours, notes and aromas that most evoke Sicily. Moreover, all wines are made by refusing the use of pesticides, artificial fertilisers and herbicides.
Wine for Cantina Quattrocieli represents, above all, conviviality and hospitality, which is why the winery happily opens the doors of its cellar to all those who want to discover its history and explore first-hand how the wines are produced. All guests are offered the chance to immerse themselves in a unique place and become winemakers for a day.

PICNIC
Florio Cellars
Founded in 1833 by Vincenzo Florio, the Cantine Florio in Marsala welcome visitors inside unique environments that offer a new way of conceiving the Cantina's spaces: no longer just a place where Marsala wines are produced, but a space that opens up to the visitor, communicating the culture and history of the territory.
The guided tour inside the Florio Cellars is a journey that begins in front of the majestic giant vats, built at the end of the 19th century and still used to age marsala, and continues inside the three fascinating 165-metre-long barrel cellars, interspersed with 104 arches, under which 1,400 barrels and about 600 casks and vats of various capacities are lined up, in which about 5,500,000 litres of marsala are stored in silence and stillness. After a thirty-minute tour through the barrel cellars, where the ancient tufa floor has been restored, visitors enter the state-of-the-art Donna Franca and Duca Enrico tasting rooms. Here, visitors are welcomed by innovative spaces, where the tasting of Corvo, Duca di Salaparuta and Florio wines is transformed into an evocative experience, thanks also to the pairing with a careful selection of typical dishes.
Entirely overlooking the sea, the Terrazza Florio is an exclusive space that offers the opportunity to enjoy the sun and the splendid Sicilian sunsets while tasting Duca Di Salaparuta, Corvo and Florio wines in extreme relaxation. The perfect location for organising events, leisure and business, wine tastings or exclusive evenings, the Terrazza Florio offers you the possibility of transforming every occasion into a unique and unforgettable moment, thanks to a breathtaking panorama and all-round service.
Viola Cellars
Cantine Viola is a winery where you can taste indigenous wines surrounded by the authentic and genuine atmosphere of the Pollino Park and embark on a unique wine and food journey.
The history of the company began in 1999 when Luigi Viola, a nature and agriculture enthusiast, decided to market and make known to the general public the Moscato di Saracena, a raisin wine renowned since the 16th century, whose cultivation and memory risked disappearing forever. The passion of Luigi and his family made it possible to avert not only the extinction of this refined meditation wine, but also the loss of the special vinification procedure that makes it unique among the worldʼs dessert wines.
All the wines produced on the farm are the fruit of a laborious and passionate commitment that begins in the vineyard and continues in the cellar, following a centuries-long tradition.
Production derives exclusively from indigenous vines, in particular the Moscato Passito di Saracena, unique for its vinification method and because it is only produced in Saracena, so much so that it is counted among the best sweet wines in the world for its organoleptic qualities. One of the few wines to be a 'Slow Food' Presidium.
Casal Dragone - Winery
Casal Dragone is a historic winery located in Contrada Pietrapenta, not far from the city of Matera.
Founded as a family-run business, it made its first wine label in 1955, thanks to the product of the vines grown on the land in Contrada Pietrapenta. Over the years, the wine production of the Matera hills was joined by that of another thirty-five hectares of land, followed by the opening of a new sales outlet in Via Olivetti.
Over time, the old family cottage has been transformed into an agritourism facility that has elegantly preserved its rustic appearance. Here you can immerse yourself in the history and flavours of the area and in the traditions of a family proudly handed down for five generations. At present, the Casal Dragone agritourism is a wine-growing company, with seven hectares of land dedicated to the cultivation of vines, pulses and the raw materials needed to produce the dishes served in the restaurant.
But the peculiarities of this place do not end here: inside the Company, in fact, it is possible to visit the Crypt of Original Sin, an ancient rock church with a suggestive and rich cycle of frescoes, depicting episodes from the Old Testament taken from Genesis and embellished with flowers and other decorative elements.
